NTNU Hotels – Hotels Near National Taiwan Normal University

Considered to be one of Taiwan’s elite learning centers, the National Taiwan Normal University is a university centre steeped in tradition, and one where educational excellence is the order of the day. Located in the Da’an District of Taipei, the National Taiwan Normal University was founded in 1946 and has been drawing visitors to this city ever since.

If you’re heading for the university on business, education or pleasure, or you simply want to stop by and drink in this great and historic building whilst you’re in the area, then one of the best ways to do so is to stay at a nearby hotel. In this article we will focus on the best hotels that are located within walking distance of the National Taiwan Normal University, so you don’t have to do much or travel far in order to get here.

Madison Taipei

The Madison Taipei is a five star hotel that deserves every bit of praise that goes its way. This is as good as it gets if you’re looking for some luxury during your visit to the National Taiwan Normal University, so much so that you might never want to leave your hotel room.

Before we get into the meat of what makes this hotel so exceptional, let’s cover the basics:

  • Airport Shuttle? Yes
  • Free WiFi? Yes
  • Pool? No
  • Fitness Center? Yes
  • Restaurants? Yes
  • Near Public Transport? Yes

There are 124 luxury rooms at the Madison Taipei, all designed to the same high standard. These range from the Standard Double Rooms and Twin Rooms, to the Deluxe King Rooms and Deluxe Twin Rooms, all the way to the Skyline Suite. There aren’t many of these suites available and they attract a lot of interest, so if you want the best room in the best hotel, then you need to book well in advance. In fact, in the spring we checked some of the most popular summer and Autumn dates for the same year, and on none of those dates was this suite available.

The Madison Taipei is located in a vibrant part of the city, with plenty to see and do in the near vicinity. If you want to get away from it all, then the High Speed Rail Station is just a short walk away. If you would prefer to stay in the hotel, then there is an onsite fitness centre to keep you active, a restaurant to keep you fed, and all of the rooms have a flat-screen television to keep you entertained. Guests can also make use of a tour desk, where knowledgable and experienced locals can advise of the best attractions in the city, and can also arrange for bus tours and special offers.

Vendome Hotel

If a five-star hotel is more of a dream than a reality, then don’t worry as you can get all you need elsewhere. The Vendome Hotel, for instance, is only a three-star, but it offers everything you could need for a great stay in this beautiful city. With rooms that boast some of the best views of Taipei, and dark and cozy ambiance that runs throughout the hotel, the Vendome was designed to make you feel as safe and as comfortable as you do at home.

  • Airport Shuttle? Yes
  • Free WiFi? Yes
  • Pool? No
  • Fitness Center? Yes
  • Restaurants? Yes
  • Near Public Transport? Yes

The airport shuttle is not free and you will need to pay a surcharge, but this is common practice for many hotels that are on the airport’s doorstep. If you are planning on renting a car for your trip then the Vendome Hotel can accommodate you with private parking, although this will cost you 400 TWD and you need to phone them in advance to reserve a space. Wi-Fi is free throughout the building and the 24-hour front desk can assist you in several ways, from a fax and photocopying service, to a luggage storage service and to a dry cleaning and laundry service. There is also a business centre located within the Vendome Hotel, which is ideal if you have a meeting to stage, a presentation to run or some business to attend to.

There are 91 rooms in the Vendome Hotel, and although there are no suites available, guests can stay in the Deluxe Double Rooms and Deluxe Twin Rooms for some extra luxury. Both of these offer views of the city, whereas the Standard Double Rooms do not, and do not even have a window. All of the rooms come fitted with a flat-screen television and this has cable channels available. All rooms are also air-conditioned and decorated in a modern style, and guests at the Vendome are invited to the dining room each morning where they can feast on a buffet breakfast.
