The Tatung University is a leading learning center in Taipei that works in conjunction with the Tatung Company, a multinational corporation that designs and produces everything from LCD televisions to computers, video phones and more.

Tatung University was founded in 1956, although it grew steadily into the leading university it is today over the decades that followed. There are many colleges located within the Tatung University, including a college of engineering, a college of management and a college of design. Tatung University has produced many successful alumni, including David Sun, the founder of Kingston Technology, whose name and brand you might recognize from the many flash pens and other devices they have produced and sold all over the world.

Tatung University is located in the Zhongshan District, which is often seen as the leading tourist district in the city. This is where the majority of travelers flock, so there is no shortage of hotels and attractions. Some of the most popular of these include the Museum of Jade Art, the many recreational parks, the Zhongshan Soccer Stadium and the Fine Arts Museum.

The Landis Taipei is a five-star hotel that offers a number of suites. There are many five-star hotels in the city, as you would expect from such a popular tourist destination and such a rich and modern city, but it is at the Landis where you will find one of the highest concentrations of suites. Their Corner Suites and Executive Suites offer more space and more luxury than you will find anywhere else in the district, and there are plenty of these available, so even if you book late you might be able to pick one up. If a suite is out of your price range, there are also Double Rooms and Twin Rooms, with guests able to choose between the Superior Rooms or the Deluxe Rooms. If there are several of you in your group and you don’t want to purchase the suites, then you can opt for the Deluxe Twin Room with Extra Bed, which is perfect for groups of friends and colleagues.

As you can see from the checklist above, one of the few things that Landis doesn’t have that many other five-star hotels have, is a pool. These are common in other grand hotels in the city, with some of the best indoor and outdoor pools you will find anywhere, but The Landis falls short here. However, we’re happy to disregard this considering that this hotel gets everything else right, and because once you’ve spent sometime in their expansive sauna, being pampered with a number of treatments, you’ll forget about that small omission.

The beauty of the Landis Taipei is that it isn’t as expensive as you would expect from a hotel of its size and class. The same pretty much applies to all of the five-star hotels in Taiwan, as your money goes much further here than it does in other major cities, such as London, Paris, Sydney and New York.

The Green World Hotel Jian Pei Suites is a four-star hotel in the Zhongshan District, perfectly placed for tourist who wants to checkout the famous Tatung University, and everything else that this region has to offer. If a five-star hotel is a little out of your price range, but you’re still looking for something that can offer a great deal of comfort, with a little luxury thrown in, then the Green World Hotel Jian Pei Suites could be just what you are looking for.

As well as the fitness center mentioned above, the Green World Hotel Jian Pei Suites has a business center and a tour desk, whilst the onsite restaurant serves both Chinese and Western menu options so that even the pickiest of eaters will be satisfied. Guests at the Green World Hotel Jian Pei Suites can take advantage of a laundry and dry cleaning service, whilst all of the 68 rooms come with tea and coffee making facilities, a TV and a mini bar.

The Green World Hotel Jian Pei Suites is ideally located, being just an eight minute walk from the MRT Station, which will pretty much take you where you want to go in the city. Don’t forget that this district is the most popular with tourists though, because this is where most of the action is, including the best entertainment, the best food and the best drink. That’s not to say that you can walk around the district all day, but a little taxi money here and there will not go amiss, and you can also rent a bicycle to get around like many of the locals do.
