The Shih Hsin University is a private university that is located in the Wenshan District of Taipei, where many other top universities also reside. The Shih Hsin University was first formed in 1956 and has been building a strong reputation ever since. The Shih Hsin University is seen to be one of the best private universities and one of the best universities in all of Taipei, and the Ministry of Education in China have given it the Teaching Excellence award every year for ten years, which is no small feat.

Initially known as the Shih Hsin School of Journalism, the Shih Hsin University still teaches journalism to this day and has produced many of the country’s best journalists and reporters. The colleges inside the university include the College of Journalism and Communication, the College of Management, the College of Law and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

If you’re in the district to visit the Shih Hsin University, then you should also drop by the Taipei Zoo, which is where thousands of tourists flock every season. This is the main attraction in the district, with plenty to see and experience inside the zoo, but there is also a night market and scores of great places to eat and drink, so a visit to the Wenhsan District is sure to be a fulfilling one.

Times Nagasaki

As we said above, there isn’t a great deal of choice in this district, and as it does still attract its fair share of tourists, not to mention many International students who come to checkout universities such as the Shih Hsin and others like it, then rooms can be in short supply. Therefore, if you plan on visiting this district then you should try and book as early as you can, because if you leave it late then your choices will be few to none.

The Ouiinn Guesthouse has been rated 2.5 star. This is a clean, homely and well maintained establishment, and one that has been highly rated by the many guests that it has entertained over the years. The low rating is because there is nothing in the way of a pool, a restaurant, a fitness center or anything else that you would expect to find in a larger hotel. If none of this is important to you, if your main focus is on a comfortable and friendly guesthouse, with spacious, clean rooms, home-cooked food and a price that will fit all budgets, then this could be ideal.
