Songshan

Home to the Songshan Airport, many visitors to Taipei may find that they pass through the Songshan District at one point or another. It isn’t just about the airport though, because as well as many great hotels (which we will discuss later) there are several attractions that make this district a popular choice with both business travelers and leisure travelers.

Some of the main tourist attractions in the Songshan District include the Raohe Street Night Market, which has over 160 booths and is one of the oldest night markets in the city. There are also plenty of temples here, including the Taipei City Lord Temple and the XCiyou Temple, which is several hundred years old and is definitely worth a visit.

Sporting fans can find their home at the Taipei Arena, which has hosted many major sporting events over the years and has also played host to singers and performers such as the Backstreet Boys, Jolin Tsai, and Bob Dylan. If you want your culture fix to be a little quieter then the Aurora Art Museum, which exhibits many hand-crafted jade and bronze pieces, is worth a visit.

There are also recreational parks in the Songshan District, along with many transport links that can take you to other areas of this modern and vibrant city. If this sounds like your thing then checkout our reviews of all of the best hotels in the Songshan District below.
