Train from Lanzhou to Chengdu is Coming

The good news is coming, the residents in Chengdu will have the opportunities to eat Lanzhou noodle in 8 hours! The reporter learned from the official Wechat account of China Railway Second Bureau that 4:36 am on August 23, with the last rail successful in place at the entrance of the Humalin Tunnel, marking the railway from Lanzhou to Chengdu has been successfully completed. Reporter also learnt that the train from Lanzhou to Chengdu will fulfill the operation condition by end of the October this year. After opening, starting form Guangyuan, you can arrive at Lanzhou directly in 4.5 hours.

The train from Lanzhou to Chengdu is the main structure of the West Railway Network, connecting Yellow River and Yangzte River. It is an important “iron bridge” between the new economic area in Lanzhou and Chengdu economic area. It is also the major transportation artery along the “one belt one road”. Reporter understands that the operation between Guanyuan to Chongqing of Lanzhou to Chengdu Railway on December 26, 2015 has ended the history that no railway between Cangxi, Langzhong, southern and other cities. On May 15, 2016, the Railway from Lanzhou to Sichuan has started high speed train for the first time, shortening the time from Chengdu to Guangyuan from 5 hours to 3/5 hours. It has make the distance between Chengdu and Guangyuan – the home town of the Queen closer. Also, it has realized the full coverage of the high speed train in north Sichuan. In January 2017, the train from Guangyuan, Sichuan to Longnan has started operation, ending the history of no train in Longnan region.

Reporter received updates that the static checking has undergoing for the whole railway from Lanzhou to Chengdu. It is estimated to complete on September 10^th; the preliminary check is going to be completed on September 30^th. The safety evaluation and preparation between running will be completed on October 20^th. It is estimated that by the end of October, the train from Lanzhou to Chengdu will meet the condition to operate completely. From researching on the official railway booking system, currently, the fasted train from Chengdu to Lanzhou is the train K2058, which takes about 20 hours and 40 minutes. After the start of new Lanzhou to Chengdu train, it only takes 4.5 hours from Guangyuan to Lanzhou. This means, if you start from Chengdu, it only takes you 8 hours to get to Lanzhou. Which is 12 hours and 40 minutes shorter than before (the train from Chengdu to Guangyuan has been operating already, total 3.5 hours.)

The completion of the train from Lanzhou to Guangyu will drive up the economic development of the cities alone the way, accelerating the process of the residents along the way to gaining wealth, strengthening the connection between northwest and northwest, and narrow the gap between the space. Based on the preliminary estimation, after the completion of the train from Lanzhou to Chengdu, the cost of the train from Lanzhou to Chongqing or Chengdu will be reduced 1/3, and the time will be shortened 2/3, which has great economic and social effects.
