There aren’t many beaches in Taipei. This is a built-up city. Taipei is popular because it is modern, because there are many skyscrapers, many fine restaurants and many great attractions. It is popular with families, thanks to its zoo and its varied entertainment; it is popular with business travelers, thanks to its exhibition halls, conference centers and the Taipei World Trade Center; and it is popular with leisure travelers, as there is no shortage of four and five-star hotels, whilst great food is also in plenty supply. Everyone can enjoy Taipei and that is why in the last few years it has become one of the most visited cities in the world.

Beach goers, those seeking sea, sand and sunshine, don’t have a lot to choose from, but as Taiwan is an island, there are beaches around. The majority of the tourists go to the inland areas to experience the hustle and bustle of city life, but there are a few who gravitate towards the beaches, towards the cooler, more laid-back hotels that sit on the edges of this modern metropolis.

It wasn’t easy, but we have done our best to find the best beach hotels in Taipei. This was very much like finding a needle in a haystack, but we were successful and the hotels we have listed below are the best beach hotels that Taipei has to offer, at least in our opinion.

White House Beach Resort

The White House Beach Resort is as good as it gets when it comes to beach hotels in Taipei. This is only a three-star hotel, but it feels like it deserves to be much more, and the many guests that have stayed in this hotel have rated it significantly higher than its star rating would suggest.

The White House Beach Resort is a long hotel, with a great number of rooms stretched out over a single story and plonked in front of the sea. This means that in each of the rooms you will find a view of the beach and of the sea. All of the rooms at the White House Beach Resort actually have their own expansive balcony, separated from the others and fitted with chairs and a table so that guests can chill throughout the day and watch as the sun dips over the horizon.

All of the rooms at the White House Beach Resort are also well equipped, with a separate seating area and a private bathroom that comes with both a shower and a bathtub. Guests at the White House Beach Resort can also benefit from a 42-inch television, although with the view that all of these rooms have, you probably won’t spend much time watching television.

The White House Beach Resort has its own private stretch of beach, and if you don’t fancy getting wet in the sea then you can head for the onsite pool instead, which is located outdoors and is open throughout much of the year. The White House Beach Resort is ideal for couples and for families, and if you’re bringing the clan along then be sure to book into one of the family rooms, which offer a little more space and some extra beds.

All guests can enjoy a buffet breakfast every morning and there is free and fast Wi-Fi available in all of the rooms.

Fullon Hotel Fulong

You will have to go a little further away from the main districts in Taipei, and some distance away from attractions such as the Taipei 101 if you want to book in at the Fullon Hotel Fulong, but it is sure to be worth it. The Fullon brand is very respected in this part of the world and the Fullon Hotel Fulong is one of their most family-friendly hotels.

Located on the north coast of the city, there are 54 rooms in the Fullon Hotel Fulong, and the hotel has its own aromatic spa and outdoor pool. If you prefer to take a dip in the sea, then you’re just a stone’s throw away. There are many activities to enjoy at the Fullon Hotel Fulong, including table tennis and billiards, and there is also an expansive beach that is sure to please kids and adults of all ages.
