Xindian

The Xindian District is located in the south of New Taipei City, a district that is popular with tourists and one that has many hotels. Some of the leading tourist attractions in the Xindian District include the Xindian History Museum, which exhibits items from Taiwan’s past, and the Erbazi Botanical Garden. Lion’s Head Mountain and Little Lion’s Head’s Mountain are also worth a visit during your stay in the Xindian District.

If you want to experience some culture then head to the Jing-mei Human Rights Memorial and Cultural Park. This pays respects to the Taiwanese Democracy Movement, and the building used to be a military school, a military court and then a detention center. To say it has a troubled history would be an understatement, and it can make for a very introspective experience.

You should also head for Bitan, especially if you need to take some weight off and relax. There is a big lake here and plenty of greenery, perfect for getting in touch with nature. Bitan is popular with tourists and there are plenty to cater for them within the park itself including restaurants and pedal boats.

There is plenty on offer in Xindian District, so if you fancy making this district your base during your trip to the region then checkout the list of hotels below. We have selected the best of the best for you and reviewed each of them.
