National Geographic recommends 72 hours’ tour in Taipei

Recently, Taiwan has spare every effort in promoting its tourism industry. The travel TV shows in the nearby counties, such as Japan, and South Korea, have chosen to shoot in Taiwan. Just a few days ago, the National Geographic magazine has recommended a tour called “72-hour Taipei Tour Guide”, visiting Taipei National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Taipei 101 and other attractions, tastes the dumplings, the snacks at the night markets and others. The tour seems a lot. However, some people points out that the arrangement of this tour is mission impossible. “You must be cheating to even finish the tour”.

Yongkang Street, Taipei

According to the arrangement of the “72-hour Taipei Tour Guide” shared by the National Geographic magazine, after have a cup of coffee first thing in the morning in Ximenting, then you go to the National Palace Museum, Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall for the historical cultural relic. In the noon, you can have beef noodle at Yongkang before visiting Hsing Tain Kong (Xingtian Temple). Have the afternoon tea. You can go shrimp fishing in the evening. Your first day’s tour is completed.

Ximenting, Taipei

On the next day, you can ride the Youbike to Daan Forest Park, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Jianguo Flower Market, Dajia Riverside Park, and other attractions. You can taste the famous dumpling for lunch. Then you can go shopping at Ximenting. In the night, you can go grab a drink at the bars in Dongqu, or singing at KTV. For the third day, you will go to Beitou for the hot springs, geothermal valley. In the afternoon, you will visit the Agricultural Temple, then climb the Taipei 101. After this, you will go to the Tonghua Night market and clubs to enjoy a carnival night.

After people have reviewed the schedule for the tour, they feel that the National Geographic magazine have failed to consider the traveling time or the time need to visit each attraction. Each tour only saved 1 to 2 hours for stopping at each attraction. And you have to travel from west to east. Even though, you will be able to go through all the featured places in Taipei. However, it is not recommended by a lot of people. They say “wow! This tour will drive people crazy. Even the soul cannot catch up. You might end up without your soul. It is way to exhausted.” “You might only be able to complete the tour if you have the ability to transfer instantly.”, “this should be a 120-hour tour guide instead.”
